Born April 3, 1970, to the late Juanita M Lanning and Sebern E. Lanning. Anthony passed away at Mission Hospital after a brief illness on June 3rd, 2026, at the age of 56. Daddy grew up in Woodfin, NC. He had many trades over the years. His last being a manager at Pizza Hut. Daddy was in the Beyond Addiction program, which he finished in late August of last year. He graduated from ADETS and got his driver's license. Through hard work and determination, he bought a Jeep that he was very proud of. Daddy was on his way to a very successful life. He had a loving dog named Sasha, whom he absolutely adored.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Joan Robinson (Marty), Joyce Guice (Bobby), Wayne Lanning, and a brother-in-law, Buddy Blackwell. His baby girl Felicia Plemmons (Jimmy), and his two baby boys, Anthony Lanning Jr. (Stephanie) and Austin Lanning (Taylor). Anthony was a loving “Pop-Pop” to four adoring grandchildren, Jency Plemmons, Sophia Lanning, Russell Plemmons, and Theodore Lanning, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as a “sister out-law”, Terri Rogers. Daddy was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan; he bled purple and gold. He loved NASCAR and the WWE.

Daddy is preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda L. Blackwell and Jeanette E. Lanning; a sister-in-law, Terri Lanning; a nephew, Adam N. Lanning; and an aunt, Dasy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his family or the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Foundation.
