Arquilla Lance

Arquilla Wood Lance, 81, of Asheville, passed away on March 30, 2021 after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late Ingle S. Wood of Sylva, NC and Mary Ella Painter Wood of Asheville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Lance of Asheville, NC and her son, Jeffery D. Deitz of Candler, NC, as well as two sisters, Glenda Wood and Ilene Wood Allison.

Arquilla is survived by a brother, Joseph R. Wood and his wife, Lynn of Weaverville, NC; two sisters, Vickie D. Stanford of Candler, and Tammy Rea and her husband, Rick of Canton, NC; one son, W. Keith Deitz and his wife, Lora of Florida; four granddaughters and 2 grandsons, and many great-grandchildren.

A joint service will be held at Good News Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 16th, for Arquilla and her son, Jeffery D. Deitz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Jude's Children Hospital at 501 Saint Jude Place,  Memphis, TN 38105.
