Gary Lee Ray, 63, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Gary was born on January 18, 1963, in Asheville, North Carolina, to James Franklin Ray and Priscilla Arvalie Wallace. He and his siblings were raised in the mountains of their hometown, a place Gary loved deeply and never wished to leave.

Gary was known as a loving son and brother who lived a simple and humble life. Throughout the years, he worked as a delivery driver for several companies and was appreciated for his quiet nature, kind heart, and dependable spirit.

He is survived by his siblings, Steve Leonard Allman, Linda Ray, and Terri Robinson, as well as his niece, Ashli Robinson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
