Jason Dean Fisher, 50, of Brevard, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family and friends on February 4, 2026 @ 4:36 PM, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born December 25, 1975, to his parents Brenda Kay O’Shields Shelton and Michael Ralph Fisher in Brevard, NC. Jason grew up running the mountains of Transylvania County and living life to the fullest. 

He was a devoted partner, loving father and poppy, cherished son, and caring brother. He was known for his humor, kindness, and hardworking nature, and he brought light, laughter, and love into every room he entered. He will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering loyalty, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. 

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ralph Fisher; his brother, Michael Lee Fisher; his grandmother, Iva Jean O’Shields; his aunts, Rita and Joyce; his cousin, Emory; his uncle, Emerson; and his best friend, Tommy. 

Jason is survived by his loving life partner of 22 years, Donna Patterson of Brevard; his children, Alexandria Fisher and Justin Fisher (Samantha Fisher); and his beloved bonus daughters, Krystal Morris (Justin Morris) and Tara LaFon (Joe LaGon). 

He also leaves behind his 9 grandchildren, whom he adored Brantley, Temperance, Jayce, Jaylin, Kristen, Khloe, Brayden, Jax, and Caleb; his mother, Brenda Kay O’Shields Shelton, and bonus father, Warren Shelton; his brother, Jesse Fisher and his sister Faith Fisher; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him deeply.
