Julia Lorraine (“Lorrie”) Jones, 77 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025. Lorrie (maiden name, Suttles) was born as the first daughter to Elmer Calvin Suttles and Evelyn Jones Suttles on October 4, 1947 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She attended and graduated from East Henderson High School 1966-1967 and lived in Henderson County most of her life.
Lorrie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Jones Brophy and son Samuel E. Jones. She is also survived by her granddaughter Michelle Israel, grandson Zachary Israel, granddaughter Kasey Jones, and great granddaughter Willow Israel. She is also survived by her sisters, Gale Hoots, Debbie Hensley and Penny McCullough, as well as many nieces and cousins.
In addition to being a wife and mother, Lorrie was proud to be known as a “truck driver” during the time she drove a delivery truck while working in the tree farming business. Later, she became a CNA and worked for several nursing home facilities in the area until retiring around 2010.
Lorrie’s great joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and her dogs. She also loved baking treats for everyone during the holiday season and was always happy to go hunting for treasures and bargains at Good Will and other thrift stores.
Lorrie will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and in all those she touched and inspired throughout her life.
A private memorial will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that loving tributes and memories be shared on an online obilituary page (details upon request).
