Obituary

Linda Lee Griffin passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Linda was born on January 4, 1947, in Bristol, Virginia, to Allen Clayton Lee and Ada Smith Lee.

She married her high school sweetheart, Corky Brumet, and together they welcomed two children, Marci and Brett. In 1972, the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where they built their lives together. Linda was also a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Eric and Katelyn Barner, and Drew and Kayla Brumet.

Linda began her professional career in the corporate world with R.J. Reynolds before moving on to Citibank. She concluded her corporate career as assistant treasurer at First Data, a testament to her dedication and accomplishments throughout her working life.

In 2003, Linda married Lee Griffin, and the two began a wonderful new chapter together in Panama City Beach, Florida. Her final career venture was in real estate. Although they cherished their time near the coast, hurricanes eventually prompted them to move farther north. They ultimately settled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, where they made their home together.

Retirement gave Linda the opportunity to discover and nurture her remarkable artistic talent. She developed a particular love for watercolor painting, creating works of art that will continue to be treasured by those who knew and loved her. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Linda enjoyed her daily yoga practice, remained active in the local bridge community, and most of all, cherished the time she spent with her beloved husband, Lee.

Linda will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose beauty and kindness touched the lives of those around her. Her artistic gifts, warm spirit, and the memories she created with her family and friends will remain a lasting part of the lives she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who loved her.
