IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew James
Grzeskowiak
July 15, 1961 – February 16, 2026
Matthew built a meaningful career as a chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, a path that allowed him to travel throughout the United States, where he was able to land in North Carolina. His work reflected his intelligence, dedication, and curiosity about the world.
He enjoyed his time living in Brevard, North Carolina to the fullest while exploring the mountains and waterfalls in the area. Developing not only friendships, but a new talent for photography as he was able to capture the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and stunning sunsets, sharing them with those he cared for as well as a local gallery.
During his time in North Carolina, Matt continued to practice his Catholic Faith. He found freedom to explore his religion and looked to share his beliefs with those around him. He departed us as the sun fell, once again enjoying the beautiful light he chose to capture and shine through his own jokes, laughter and love. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
He is survived by many including his brother and sisters whom he loved dearly: John Grzeskowiak (Debi Bergmann), Karyn (Graylon) Williams and Cyndi (Gordan) Montana; the mother of his children, Marlyn Grzeskowiak, and his beloved daughters: Mackenzie Grzeskowiak, Samantha (Christopher) Lemkuil, Alexandra Grzeskowiak, and Danielle (AJ) Hoffman; his grandchildren: Crosby and Rio Lemkuil and Tucker Hoffman; and many other family members and friends made from childhood to those made in his last couple of years.
Matthew will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life through his passions he shared with those he loved. He will return to his home in Michigan for a Funeral and Celebration of Life on April 11th, 2026.
