Merri Williamson, a resident of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on July 24, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on March 26, 1945, and was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. Merri was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Merri was a beacon of resilience and compassion in her community, leaving a lasting impression on the lives of everyone she met. She committed her life to serving others and spreading happiness wherever she went. Merri was raised in Pickens, S.C., and lived most of her life in Charlotte. In 2017, she relocated to Asheville to be nearer to her family.

Surviving her are her sister Donna Peets and longtime partner Sam Jones; her son Stephen and his wife Linette Williamson; her granddaughter Brittany and her husband Cody Williamson; and her three great-grandchildren Makenna, Layne, and Bowen. Her extended family includes granddaughter Jill Laughter, great-grandchildren Xander and Xayla, grandson Mike Sieben, and great-grandchild Corben. Her son Mike, and his wife Tonya Jones and grandchildren Brittney and Dylan, also survive her. Sadly, her husband, Stephen D. Williamson Jr., predeceased her.

Although Merri is no longer with us in body, her memory will always remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her spirit will provide guidance and inspiration for all of us who were lucky enough to have known her. Instead of sending flowers, please consider making a donation to Buckeye Baptist Church. Merri's life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5th at 1 PM at Buckeye Baptist Church located at 102 W. Buckeye Rd in Swannanoa, NC. 28778. 828-298-0326.
