Obituary

Michelle Ward, of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, March 25th 2026. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose strength, compassion, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her

Born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Michelle was the daughter of Debra Thompson and William Bell. She attended East High School and later pursued cosmetology, a field she truly enjoyed before becoming disabled. Even after facing life’s challenges, Michelle remained a strong and independent woman who continued to give of herself in meaningful ways. She especially loved volunteering and helping others who were facing struggles similar to her own

Michelle found joy in life’s simple and beautiful things. She loved her girls, the color purple, Christian music, roses, coloring, spending time with family, and her beloved dog, Daisy. Above all, Michelle deeply loved her family and worked hard to care for them in every way she could, even when doing so was difficult. Her love was steady, selfless, and unwavering

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Lauren Ward and Sara Ward; her parents, Debra Thompson and Dean Couch; her brother William Bell; and is preceded in death by her adopted parents, Cathey Bell and Harvey Bell.

Michelle will be remembered for her resilience, kind spirit, and the deep love she carried for those closest to her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
