Obituary

Bishop Owen Brian Isaacs went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2026, at his residence in Candler, North Carolina. He was 70 years old.

Owen was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on January 2, 1956, to OB and Rose Isaacs. Alongside his brother, Ricky, he was raised in a family rooted in faith, where studying the Word of God became the foundation of his life and ministry.

Following his calling, Owen attended Lee University and was ordained as a Bishop in the Church of God. A lifelong member of the Church of God, he faithfully dedicated his life to serving Christ and his community. As pastor, he lovingly shepherded his congregation.

Owen found the love of his life in Betty Jean Monroe. Together they built a life centered on faith and family and were blessed with two sons, Brent and Michael. Whether spending time with his loved ones, reading Scripture, enjoying a baseball game, or ministering to those around him, Owen lived each day with kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to God.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannie Isaacs; his sons, Brent Isaacs and his wife, Stephanie, and Michael Isaacs; his brother, Ricky Isaacs and his wife, Lorraine; his grandsons, Andruw, Austin, Jakob, Justin, and Braylin; his granddaughter, Avery; and many extended family members, friends, and countless members of the congregation whose lives were touched by his faithful ministry.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents, OB and Rose Isaacs.

A memorial service celebrating Owen's life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Emma Heights Church of God.

Donations may be made to Emma Heights Church of God at 645 Emma Rd Asheville, NC 28806.

Owen will be deeply missed by all those that loved him.
