Obituary

Patricia Lee Addison, of Cherokee, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Asheville, North Carolina. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her strong spirit, and the way she quietly cared for those around her.

Patricia was born to Richard Lee Everhart and Elizabeth Marie Meahan on June 16th, 1954 in Vallejo California. Patricia carried with her a deep sense of independence throughout her life. She was a high school graduate who spent time working as a line cook in the hospitality industry, where her love of cooking and serving others naturally came to life. Whether in a professional kitchen or her own home, she found joy in preparing meals and bringing people together.

Patricia had a nurturing nature and was known for taking care of everyone she loved. She found happiness in simple pleasures—bowling, spending time with animals (especially dogs), and sharing moments with family. Above all, she was a devoted and loving mother whose presence will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her children: daughters Jennifer Wayte of Orange, and Sarah Collins of Clinton Township, Michigan; and her son, Patrick Ducker of Sylva, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Kirk of Minnesota; her stepmother, Janet Everhart of Des Moines, Iowa; her nephew, Jamie Everhart of Des Moines, Iowa; and her niece, Amy Everhart of Des Moines, Iowa.

Patricia was a proud grandmother to Devin McCollum, Faith Collins, Kayla Wayte, April Wayte, and Cameron Sackett, each of whom brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas Addison, Richard Everhart, Robert Everhart, and Daniel Everhart.

Patricia’s memory will live on in the lives she touched through her kindness and the love she gave so freely.
