Paula Marie O’Donnell, (Beninati), of Franklin,NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the age of 76. 

Born on December 5, 1949, Paula lived a life marked by intelligence, compassion, and deep devotion to her family.

Paula was born to Salvatore Michael Beninati and Josephine Joanne Cinardo. She built a meaningful career as a laboratory technician in human genomics, a field that reflected both her sharp mind and her dedication to helping others through science and discovery.

Above all else, Paula cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and strength touched the lives of those around her. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones and took pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children and grandchildren.

Paula is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Almeida and husband Brian Almeida of Franklin; her son, Joseph Malena and family of Palm Coast; her cherished granddaughter, Breanna Almeida of Buckhead; her stepdaughter, Tina Matteo of Lynn; her sister, Barbara Durham of The Villages; her nephew, Brian Luppo of Sunrise; and her niece, Lauren Lupo of Plantation.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Roe O’Donnell Jr.; her parents, Salvatore Michael Beninati and Josephine Joanne Cinardo; her grandmother, lovingly known as Honey; and her aunt, Connie Savoia.

Paula will be remembered for her caring heart, her intelligence, her resilience, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
