Petra Strauss Jason, a woman of strength, spirit, and enduring love, passed away on April 17th, 2026 after a life marked by resilience, creativity, and deep devotion to her family.

Petra was raised by her father Frank, alongside her younger brother Bert and grandmother Jeanette. From an early age, she adapted to change with courage—a trait that would come to define her life.

Petra had a natural gift with children—her warmth, creativity, and playful spirit made her not only a wonderful third-grade teacher, but someone children genuinely loved and gravitated toward.

In 1966, Petra married Bernard Strauss (d. 2021), and together they had two children, Bradley and Jennie. Her children and grandson were always at the center of her heart.

Petra found comfort in family, sparkly things, and helping others. Even as she faced challenges with memory and mobility, her feisty spirit never dimmed. Her wit, humor, and signature sass remained as strong as ever.

She is survived by her daughter Jennie, son-in-law Phil, her most precious grandson Bryton, and her husband, Joerg; his daughter, Diana; and granddaughter, Sonia. She is also reunited in peace with her beloved son Bradley, who went before her and whom she long held in her heart, with the promise that one day they would be together again.

Petra will be remembered for her resilience, her unmistakable personality, and the love she gave so freely to those closest to her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, and heart that will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.
