Robert “Bob” C Greer, 80, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Friday, November 18th, 2022.
He was a native of Providence, Rhode Island, as well as having lived in Tampa for many years, and Hendersonville, North Carolina. Bob was the son of John and Jessie Greer. He was born on September 29th, 1942 in Providence, RI. He was the youngest of 5 children (siblings: Dottie, Connie, Donald, and John). Bob joined the Air Force as a AF14 Aviation Mechanic. He was honorably discharged in December of 1961. He would then go on to marry the love of his life, Mary White, in January 1966. They would reside in Tampa, Florida with their two beloved children – Carolyn and Robert II. In 2001, they celebrated the birth of their beautiful granddaughter, Alexis. Bob ran a successful HVAC business in the Tampa area for many years, before retiring and moving to Hendersonville, NC in 2004. While in Hendersonville, they were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed the many wonderful things that Hendersonville has to offer.
Bob was a strong man, who wore the title of son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family deeply and loved being near or talking with his family or friends as that was highlight for him. He enjoyed sharing stories about his time in the service, talking to his friends while dining at the Dixie Diner and DaVita, sharing quiet times in his house with his cats, and cooking his favorite dishes for his family. He could speak in depth about all things to do with Ford Motors and cars/trucks in general, as well as anything mechanical, as well as his Scottish heritage. He had a strong faith in God and he kept his faith through his life’s many journeys. His family is grateful that he is at peace in eternity with his wife, Mary, and other family members. He will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Greer; son Robert Campbell Greer II (Kristin); granddaughter Alexis Greer; as well as other family members including several nieces and nephews that he was close with, as well as his many friends.
