Teresa Faye Jennings Register

Teresa Faye Jennings Register was born to James Henly Jennings and Cleo Violet Caudill Jennings on the 11th day of April, 1950, in Odd, WV.

On this past Monday, the 24th day of August, 2026, Faye went home to be with God.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Register; her Momma, Cleo Jennings; her Daddy, James Jennings; her sister, Leona Bumke; and her brother, Jerry Jennings.

Faye leaves behind, here on this beautiful earth, her three sisters, Patricia Stevens, Jackline King, and Jimmy Marshall, whom she loved dearly; her two daughters, Melissa Parker and Teresa Register; and the grandchildren who loved their Granny tremendously: Hannah Hayes, Keelan Evans, Savanna Evans, and Montgomery Evans (her Pookie). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Lyanna Hayes, Parker Hayes, Shepherd Hayes, Kelsie Evans, Evelynn Evans, Dexton Evans, and Anastasia Evans.

Faye graduated from Stoco High School in Coal City, WV, before moving to Northern Virginia to start her story.

Faye was a retired federal employee who was invaluable, dedicating her early years to keeping someone’s office well-organized and running smoothly.

She was a woman who brought warmth, love, and a mother’s unique comfort into our lives. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find peace knowing she is resting in eternal grace.

As I sit here remembering her on this porch, I hold tightly to the promise found in Isaiah 66:13: “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” Momma’s love was a reflection of this divine comfort. She gave selflessly, loved deeply, and nurtured her family with a strength that will live on in our hearts forever.

The lessons she taught us, the laughter she shared, and the quiet moments of guidance are treasures that time cannot fade. Her ability to make the greatest stories and include her babies in them will always be remembered.

I also find strength today in the words of Revelation 21:4: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Though we miss her deeply, we rejoice that she is free from pain, wrapped in the arms of her Creator—her best friend!

We do not say goodbye forever, but rather, goodbye for now, carrying her legacy forward every single day.

Rest in peace, Momma. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.
