Obituary

Timothy Alan Armentrout, 59, of Edneyville passed away on March 25th, 2026 at the Elizabeth House of Four Seasons Hospice in Flat Rock.

Tim was born December 18th, 1966 in LaPorte Indiana to Dorothy Beebe and Paul Armentrout. He moved to Western North Carolina in 6th grade with his family. He loved the mountains so much, he refused a family move to Texas at the age of 16 and instead moved in with his older sister.

Tim built houses for a living until a tragic accident in 1997 caused him to lose his left leg below the knee. Although that stopped his house building career, it didn’t stop him. After that, Tim owned a successful Rock Mason company, worked as a private investigator and finally settled in as an independent contractor working primarily for Carolina Village for 19 years.

Tim was a grill master. He loved feeding people and grilling was his favorite way to do that. He made the best ribs, pork butt, kabobs and numerous other things…it was amazing if he had cooked it. Tim's other hobbies included reading western and fantasy novels. He loved watching old westerns on TV and could give you countless details about the actors or the shows. He also enjoyed working on cars and building other things around the house.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Paul, his siblings Kent Armentrout, Debra Fowler & Robert Armentrout. He is survived by his wife Greta Armentrout, siblings Roy (Melanie) Armentrout and Nancy Graham, his children Tim (Amber) Armentrout, Ashley (Trey Ramirez) Armentrout and Dorothy Armentrout, and his grandchildren Jakobie and Makenzie Ramirez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tim will always be remembered for his outgoing and friendly personality and his willingness to help anyone in need. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the good fortune to cross his path.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist with his medical and final expenses by zelle to gmarmentrout@gmail.com or to Four Seasons Hospice who cared for him in his final days at FourSeasonsFDN.org

A celebration of life (informal) will be held at a later date.
