Timothy Andrew Thompson

Mr. Timothy Andrew Thompson 55, of Hendersonville, NC went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was born June 29,1968 in Spartanburg, SC to his mother the late Mrs. Grace Ann Thompson and his father the late Mr. John Andrew Boyd. 
 
Tim was educated and graduated in the Saluda, NC Schools where he was introduced to some life-long friends. He was a hard worker started his first job at Thompson’s Store.


Tim made history to be the first elected black fire Chief of the Saluda NC Volunteer Fire Department. He loved everything about the fire department and saving lives for 30 plus years and this in return also rescued him in many ways. Tim worked at various other jobs in the HVAC field even going on to have his own HVAC company. Tim loved to go to church he was saved and oftentimes would come home to his family church Landrum Springs Baptist Church. He attended several churches in the Hendersonville area. He loved to sing and praise Jesus. 
 
In addition to his mother and father, Tim was also preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. William Benson & Mrs. Nettie Ruth Allen (Frank) Boyd; great grandparents, Mr. Albert Tobe (Delia Smith) Allen;  cousin, Jeremy Lee Michael Boyd; aunt, Dianne Boyd and a brother Milton (Ham) Boyd.
 
Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Tim are his wife Mrs. Kimberly Hobbs Thompson of the home Hendersonville, NC; two children, Mr. Derrick N. Thompson of Asheville, NC and  Ms. Sierra N. (Derrick Frazier Jr) Brewe; four grandchildren King X. & Kayden L. Cohen; Kyrie J. & Kamari K. Frazier of Hilton Head Island, SC.


Aunts Joyce L. Boyd of Inman, SC, Mary Johnson of Landrum, SC; Cousins, Lisa Boyd Jones of Boiling Springs, SC, David L. Boyd (Monica) of Spartanburg, SC, James E. Miller (Adrienne) of Boiling Springs, SC; Sharon N. Miller of Inman, SC; Thomas N. Miller (Janice)of Shelby, NC; Chris Miller of Spartanburg, SC; Sister Janet Gaffney (Melvin) of Landrum, SC; and a host of nieces nephews family and friends. 
 
Tim will be remembered for his love of people and family. He loved to laugh make you laugh he loved being a hero. To know him truly was to love him he didn’t meet strangers he enjoyed life and spending time with his friends who were also included as his family.

 

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday April 20,2024 from 2-3pm at the park in Saluda NC.
