Timothy "Tim" Charles Thorpe, 65, of Balsam Grove, passed Monday, July 29, 2019 with his family by his side at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Tim is survived and loved by his wife of 26 years, high school sweetheart and soulmate, Patricia "Tootsie" McCall Thorpe. Other surviving family members are, son Christopher Thorpe, step-sons Charles and Taylor Fowler, grandchildren Justin, Hayli, Janielynn, Annamarie, and Bryar, brothers Mike and Joey, sister Melanie and other extended family members.

Tim was born December 12, 1953 to John Charles Thorpe and Vernell Hazel Thorpe.

Tim enjoyed interacting with people. His love for life and people resonated to all but his greatest adoration was the love and appreciation he held for his family and friends, particularly his grandchildren. Tim enjoyed the outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter as well as other activities like camping. He enjoyed and appreciated God's creation to the fullest. Tim joined the Army after graduating from Rosman High School and was a proud veteran. Tim was a devout Christian and member of the community.

A memorial service will be held August 10, 2019 at 11 am at Balsam Grove Community Center with a celebration of life following the service. Flowers may be sent to the home or in lieu of flowers please consider making donations to Charles George VA Medical Center (Hospice) or to projecthealingwater.org, in memory of Timothy Thorpe.
