Grace Tellier

August 17, 1934 — December 31, 2022

Hendersonville

The beloved children of Grace “Darline” Tellier announce that on 12/31/2022 their mother
made her transition from this existence to the next. Darline now has learned the great mystery
and we miss her so very much.
She leaves to this world her wonderful children, Mark Tellier (Pat) of Raleigh, NC, Michelle
Tellier, of the home, Linda Lawrence (Marty) of Rochester Hills, MI. and her precious
grandchildren Shane (Christine) Tellier, Amanda Tellier, Emile (George) DeCherney and Daniel
Clark.
To greet her into this next experience are many loved ones so long from sight, but always close
in heart. There to welcome her home is her dear mother Ruby, Aunts Grace and Cleo, Uncle
Harry and Louis, Grandparents Alex and Helen Chenburg; all who helped to encourage, support
and raise her. Her brothers Donald, Denny and her beloved former husband Bernard are also
there in addition to the many four legged pets that she loved and cared for during her life.
Darline was born and raised in Denver, CO. In her teens, the family moved to Michigan where
she graduated from Berkley High School in 1954. She met and married her husband Bernard
Tellier in 1959 and raised their 3 children in their Warren, Michigan home. Darline was a stay at
home mom, Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, as well as a reading tutor
at the local elementary school. Darline was also known as the neighborhood mom, always there
with a hug, a listening ear, encouragement and support. She was a delight and treasure to all
who knew her.
Darline was a lover of all animals. She enjoyed reading, music, crafting and was a gifted
ceramic artist. Her bright eyes and lovely smile could light up a room like no other.
She taught her children by example. She embodied unconditional love, honesty, integrity,
compassion, acceptance, responsibility, and so very fondly, the rescuing of animals. She
helped care for her in-laws and mother in the family home.
In 1995, Darline moved to the Raleigh area to be close to family, especially her grandchildren. In
2016, Darline moved to Hendersonville to live with her devoted daughter, Michelle. Here she
enjoyed the live music scene, going for day trips and fun picnics on the parkway, spending time
with her loving dogs Tater Tot and Peaches who brought her great laughter and joy. Her
daughter's friends welcomed and loved Darline as if she was their own mother. Most recently,
she began participating in Mountain Care Adult Day Services which she enjoyed and benefited
from very much.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family is most appreciative of memorial donations to both or either organizations:
Community Partnership for Pets of Flat Rock. Two of Darline’s pets were rescued by CPPI,
Bridget, a blind cat and Peaches, her precious dog.

Mountain Care Adult Day Services of Hendersonville, a place of joy and hope for many families.
