James Richard Frisbee, age 70, died peacefully 1/23/21 at his Candler home after long battle of bladder cancer. Born 1/6/51 to William/Pearl(Corn)Frisbee (both deceased),grew up in Candler,EnkaHS’69 graduate.
Survived by his beloved wife Anne(Finke)Frisbee (married 11/29/80 at ZionLutheranChurch,Marengo,IL); adopted daughter StephanieAnn(Jon)Cabe/Candler; ex-wife Cherie(Freeland)Frisbee/Fletcher & sons JohnRichardFrisbee/Asheville and JamesWesley(Patricia)Frisbee/Etowah. He was a devoted Grandpa to DanielAltonEmil Cabe age10, AnnaGraceLucille Cabe 8, EmerieKate Frisbee 8, and infant LathanIsaac Frisbee born & heaven sent 3/13/11.
Survived by siblings: AldaMorris/Edneyville,MaryAliceDeWeese/Swannanoa,EleanorRobinson/ Weaverville,ShirleyFrisbee /Marble,Morris(Kim)Frisbee/Dana; in-laws Alan(Marilyn)Finke/Elmhurst,IL, Linda(Doug)Hemmingsen/Burnsville,Karen(Anthony)Winston/Markham,IL. He loved and cherished many nieces & nephews.
He was a proud USNavy Corpsman, active duty 1969-1978 aboard ship overseas & at several stateside medical bases, Reserve duty Great Lakes, IL. He drove semi-truck statewide; completed an Associates Degree/Mechanics. Enjoyed time spent with grandkids, traveling/helping family members, built/renovated several houses.
