Lori Campbell

April 10, 1974 — December 4, 2020

Brevard

Lori Anne Campbell, 46, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away at Mission Hospital Asheville, on December 4, 2020 after suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke.

Lori was born at Halifax Hospital on April 10, 1974 in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Terry Lamar Campbell, Nancy Blanton Campbell and big sister, Lisa Beth Campbell Crouch.

Lori was a kind and generous soul with an infinite capacity for love of people and especially animals. She cared deeply about animals and volunteered with many local animal rescue organizations and served on the Board of Directors with Appalachian Animal Rescue Center. Over the years, she fostered many dogs until they could find their forever homes.

Several of these foster dogs found their forever homes with her. She loved her furbabies and was at one time fur-mom to five loving and feisty dogs: Abilene(deceased), Oreo(deceased), Pete, Elliot, and Rusty.

Lori graduated high school in 1991 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1998, continuing a family tradition of military service. Despite several attempts to correct health issues while enlisted, Lori was medically discharged from the Army. This was a lifelong source of consternation for her. Lori loved her country and will be laid to rest with Military Honors.

Lori also loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. As a native of Daytona Beach, she frequently traveled to Central Florida and her favorite place was Walt Disney World. She loved to use the standard salutation Disney fans long to hear, “Have a Magical Day!” with a giggle and grin on her face.

Lori was a licensed EMT, CNA, and Medtech. She had been pursuing her RN degree with the nursing program at Blue Ridge Community College.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Terry Lamar Campbell, maternal grandparents John (Jay) Washington Blanton Jr and Iris Way McClure Blanton, Great-Aunt June Blanton Coward and Great-Uncle Carl Coward, Great-Uncle Daniel Blanton, Great-Uncle Bill Blanton, paternal grandparents Paul VanBuren Campbell and Mary Stone Campbell, Uncle Paul VanBuren Campbell Jr, Aunt Sandra Campbell Tennant Helmick, Uncle Claude Earle Campbell, and cousins Heather Jan Spangler and Phyllis Campbell Burrows.

Lori is survived by her fiancée Brian Oliver, doting mother, Nancy Blanton Campbell, and her adoring sister, Lisa Beth Campbell Crouch and Jonathan Crouch, nephew John (Jake) Blanton Crouch, niece Charlotte Campbell Crouch, stepbrother Shane Willis, Great-Aunt Louise Corbin, Great-Aunt Ann McClure Plott and Great-Uncle James Plott III, Aunt Clara Blanton Spangler, Aunt Reta Blanton Moore and Uncle Frank Moore, Uncle John Blanton III and Aunt Monica Blanton, Uncle James Blanton and Aunt Jeanie Blanton, Aunt Mary Alice Campbell, cousins Misty Roe Webb and David Webb, William and Mindy Moore, Samantha Moore, Matt Potts, Corie Blanton Lauremore and Bill Lauremore, Jenny Blanton Smith and Tony Smith, Daniel and Lauren Blanton, Katy Blanton James and Brett James, Lynn Campbell, Tracy Campbell Wright and Wayne Wright, Lloyd Campbell, Sean Campbell, KB Tennant, DD Tennant Groves and John Groves, Casie Campbell Veldhoven and Stefan Veldhoven, Corby Campbell Carrico and numerous second cousins, extended family members and lifelong friends.

Lori Anne Campbell will be deeply missed by all. We will cherish her life and our time with her always. Lori was an organ donor and we take solace in knowing that even after her death she continued to help others.

No funeral services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be announced in the spring. The family suggests anyone wishing to honor Lori make a donation in Lori’s name to your local no kill animal shelter.
