Robert Bee

January 11, 1956 — March 1, 2019

Asheville

Robert Eric Bee, of Buncombe County, NC and Brevard County, FL, died on March 1, 2019, following a valiant, year-long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Klofkorn Ford, of Palm Bay County, FL, father, Robert Emil Bee, of Cook County, IL, and his wife and soulmate, Tracy Moebius Bee, of Macon County, NC and Palm Beach County, FL. Robert is survived by his sister, Deborah Bee, who resides in Brevard County, FL, his two children and their respective families: daughter, Erin Bee, and her partner, Joe Hall; and son, Colin Bee, and his wife, Kendra Bee, as well as a beloved grandson, Brier Bee, all of whom reside in Buncombe County, NC.

Robert was an avid, lifelong learner, who developed a well-articulated and diverse knowledge base. His ‘green thumb’ and passion for the great outdoors led him to an extensive career in horticulture and golf course maintenance, which spanned over the last five decades. Robert was an incredibly talented individual, mastering a variety of hobbies, including: writing and playing music on numerous instruments, making art via multiple modalities, crafting objects from hand - in the wood-shop, or just as equally, in the kitchen, hunting and collecting eclectic do-dad’s, and designing, planting, and nurturing beautifully elaborate flower gardens. His quiet, introspective nature, world traveling spirit, and deeply compassionate heart will be dearly missed by all those whose were blessed to be in his inner circle.

Dad, we love you fiercely and eternally - may you be peaceful, may you be at ease, and may you now be free from all suffering.

“Look, it cannot be seen - it is beyond form.

Listen, it cannot be heard - it is beyond sound.

Grasp, it cannot be held - it is intangible.

These three are indefinable;

Therefore they are joined in one.

-

From above it is not bright;

From below it is not dark:

An unbroken thread beyond description.

It returns to nothingness.

The form of the formless,

The image of the imageless,

It is called indefinable and beyond imagination.

-

Stand before it and there is no beginning.

Follow it and there is no end.”

~from the Tao Te Ching (Lao Tsu)
