Luis Duran

Luis Duran

Lead Cremation Specialist

With over 30 years of experience along varied industries including finance, manufacturing, retail, dental and medical, Luis decided to pursue a more purposeful career in service of families. Having spent most of the past 25 years as a part-time support associate for funeral homes in Florida and North Carolina, he continued his journey via a mortuary science that had often fascinated him… the art of cremation. He received his ICCFA certifications as a Crematory Operator and Cremation Arranger in December of 2018.

In his personal life, Luis is blessed in marriage to Jennifer, the managing funeral director of Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn in Candler NC, and as a proud father to Madison, an exceptional student entering her Junior year at St Olaf College in Northfield, MN. As a native of Madrid Spain, he is fluent in Spanish, and arrived to the United States when he was just a few months old. His hobbies include a love for playing hockey, artistic sketching, creative writing, human psychology, and constructive political discourse. He’s also a bit of a film buff and a total music nerd.

An active participant in the community, Luis serves on the Board of Directors for the Asheville Hockey League, is a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in East Flat Rock, regularly volunteers in local community meals and health awareness events, and occasionally volunteers with Habitat For Humanity, Relay For Life, and various other charities.

He looks forward to this next step in his professional development, all the while honored to be in servitude of those coping with and having reached the final phase of life.
